Why Has Gloria Tiedemann Never Written a Second Sentence?
The woman behind 212,000 replies would rather talk about rain, her radiator and whether I have eaten. Three tries, three exits.

Gloria Tiedemann is stirring her tea before I finish the question. "Do you think it will rain?" It is Hamburg in November. It will rain.
I ask again. Twelve words, 212,000 replies, six years. Why nothing since?
She tells me about her radiator. It ticks at night, she says, in a pattern. I wait. She asks if I have eaten.
Third try. Has the stranger who writes good morning every day ever asked her for more? She looks at her phone, then the window, then me.
"They're late today," she says.
It is 11:40. I write that down as her second sentence.
