Rafferty Doyle Falls Off a Wet Ramp Eleven Times and Lands Each One

On a rain-slick car park ramp in Dublin, the skateboarder threw himself sideways eleven times and the board met him on the way down every time.

Fourth level of a car park off the quays. Rain since noon. Rafferty Doyle drops in at 4:40.

He falls. That is the trick. He leaves the ramp early, goes sideways, and the board turns up under his feet a second later like a dog told to wait.

Eleven times. Eleven landings. A man with an umbrella counted out loud and lost his place at seven.

Doyle says the ramp is fine. "It's just wet," he says.

Someone asked for a twelfth. He said his tea was getting cold.
